JOHN H. BLAKE

John H. Blake, 32, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at his home after diabetic complications.

Born Sept. 21, 1964, in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of Richard S. Blake of Hudson Falls, N.Y., and the late Marion M. Blake, who predeceased him May 30, 1997. He was currently studying medical technology at Old Dominion University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. John had also been an employee at the American Red Cross, Norfolk, since 1993. He was actively involved in donor recruitment and started the ``For the Love of Us'' program.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer L. Blake; two daughters, Ruth M. Blake and Abigail J. Blake; a son, Ian M. Blake; a brother, Matthew S. Blake of Glens Falls, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Carleton Funeral Home, Hudson Falls. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by the Rev. Dr. Roger Martin.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to ``For the Love of Us,'' American Red Cross, 611 W. Brambleton Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23507. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
