WALTER H. SCAFF

Walter Howard Scaff, 84, of the 100 block of Brumsey Road, died July 4, 1997.

He was the son of the late William F. Scaff and Alice Charlton Scaff. Mr. Scaff was retired from Sears in Norfolk, where he worked as a merchandise manager for 37 years. He was a member of Moyock Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lynell Manning Scaff of the home; together they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 30. Survivors also include a son, Walter Allison Scaff of Moyock, N.C.; a daughter, Deborah Scaff Word of Chesapeake; a brother, Marvin Leroy Scaff Sr. of Moyock; six grandchildren, Sharon Elizabeth Waldrop, Steven Howard Scaff Jr., Jennifer Allison Scaff, Cory Hamilton Scaff, Roland Eugene Word, and Curtis Anthony Word; and a great-grandson, Steven Howard Scaff Jr.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home by the Rev. Victor Ramsey. Burial will be in Moyock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moyock Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 459, Moyock. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
