Clarence M. ``Coochie'' Morris, 70, of the 700 block of Vermont Ave., died July 3, 1997, in his residence.
Mr. Morris was born in Portsmouth and had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, Portsmouth, and its Senior Choir.
Survivors include his wife, Elnora Morris; a daughter, Charlene Morris McNair of Norfolk; a sister, the Rev. Mrs. Saunders of Norfolk; a grandchild, Christian McNair of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in First Baptist Church Taylorsville by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Family and friends will assemble at 735 Vermont Ave., Portsmouth, at 11:15 a.m. for the procession to the church. Serenity Funeral Home is in charge.
