THE FUN STARTS when six sheep traipse out onto the beach one fine summer day. Like landlubber tourists, they are loaded down with tons of beach gear - great big heaps of boats, floats, umbrellas and more. They spread out a towel, lie down in a row and then . . . the silliness starts.
Writers Judith Ross Enderle and Stephanie Gordon Tessler are back with their goofy sheep and their mischievous ways in ``Six Sandy Sheep'' (Boyds Mills Press, $14.95). This time the hilarious half dozen go swimming, dance on the strand, surf and search for shells and just generally twist up the tongues of those brave enough to read the rhyming text in this little book aloud.
As usual, John O'Brien's drawings are a stitch, his pointy-footed capering sheep endearing. Look for this one, and if you love woolly madcap adventrues, take with you the highly recommended ``Six Sleepy Sheep,'' ``Six Creepy Sheep'' and ``Six Snowy Sheep.'' ILLUSTRATION: Photo
