ESSIE M. LEWIS

Essie Mae Lewis, 65, of the 25000 block of Oak Trail Apartments, died July 5, 1997, in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Lewis, the widow of Leander ``Dan'' Lewis, was a native of Southampton County, Va. She was a member of Beaulah Land AME Zion Church, Ivor.

Survivors include eight daughters, Phyllis Evans, Carrie Seaborne, Louise Evans, Jennie Wynn, Deborah Lewis, Gloria Lewis, Doretha Faltz and Kathy Lewis; two sons, Romanuel Lewis and Andrew Lewis; eight sisters; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Richard Banks.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. William Logan at Beaulah Land AME Zion Church, Ivor. The burial will be in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Engram Funeral Home, Inc., Courtland, Va. She was loved and cherished by family members and many friends. We will miss her very much. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
