LUCILLE B. WHITFIELD

Lucille Bush Whitfield, 85, of the 6500 block of Everets Road, departed this life Sunday, July 6, 1997, in Maryview Nursing Center, Suffolk.

She was a daughter of the late William Bush Sr. and Carrie Whitfield Bush, and the widow of the late Richard Whitfield Sr.

She was a member of the Little Bethel Baptist Church, Suffolk, where she was a member of the deaconess board, pastor's aid club and the missionary circle. She was also a member of the Oakland Civic League.

Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter-in-law, whom she affectionately called her daughter, Clarice Graves Whitfield; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Venise L. Whitfield of Suffolk, Fritz A. Whitfield of Raleigh, N.C., Vivian Z. Whitfield of Lanham, Md., Frederick A. and Francine P. Whitfield Sr., Frederick A. Whitfield, Jr. and Meagan F. Whitfield of Chesapeake, Elder Felton K. and Chryalene D. Whitfield of Portsmouth, Richard F. and Shirley A. Whitfield, Terrell M. Copeland and Dre'Chir T. Whitfield of Suffolk; and special niece, Ethel Bush Taylor of Suffolk.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, in Little Bethel Baptist Church, by the Rev. Kim D. Shivers. The body will be in the church Thursday at noon. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at 6517 Everets Road, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
