James A. Gibson, 72, of Cove Point Condominiums, died in his home on July 7, 1997.
Born in Salina, Kan., he was the son of Thomas Lee and Blanche Gibson. He attended the University of Kansas and served in the Merchant Marines. He was the founder and owner of James A. Gibson, Inc. and Bay Container Service, Inc., container repair facilities in Hampton Roads.
He is survived by Connie, his wife of 45 years, and his children, Sue, Scott, and Tim, and his grandchildren, Ryan and Courtney.
Services will be private. The family will receive friends at Cove Point, 700 Oriole Drive, Virginia Beach on Thursday between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to At Home Hospice Care, 1450 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464.
