Phyllis Jean McConnell, 59, died July 7, 1997, in a local hospital.
Born in Elmira, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Houser. She worked as a C.P.A for Edone and Graham for more than 20 years. She was a member of Azalea Little League and the Friday Night Screwballs.
Survivors include her husband, Gerould Lester McConnell Sr.; four daughters, Kim Michelle McConnell of Norfolk, Colleen Ann Everson of Foley, Mo., Rebecca Lynn Haugh and her husband, Donald, of Norfolk, Norma Jean Eggleston and her husband, Duane, of Norfolk; a son, Gerould L. McConnell Jr. of Norfolk; a sister, Beverly Spetaccino, and her husband, Nicholas, of Elmira, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan Hazlett; and two brothers, Thomas and Robert Houser.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
