Ruth Robinson Jenkins, 78, of the 200 block of Hurdle Drive, died July 8, 1997.
Mrs. Jenkins was born in Gastonia, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Mary Clark Robinson. She was the widow of Oscar D. Jenkins. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and had retired after 30 years with Thalhimers Department Store.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy J. and Clinton G. Nirdlinger of Chesapeake; her two sons, William T. Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard W. Jenkins of Richmond; two sisters, Aline Robinson of Gastonia, N.C., and Tommie Ballard of Iron Station, N.C.; two brothers, Thomas E. Robinson Jr. and Embrey D. Robinson, both of Gastonia, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Oak Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. E. Kirk Robinson and the Rev. John Dooley will officiate. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
