Willie Godwin Vaughan, 81, of the 1200 block of Meadow Road, died July 9, 1997, in Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
He was a native of Hertford County, a retired farmer and a delivery man for Britton Oil Co. He attended Brantley's Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Cora Lawrence Vaughan; five daughters, Billie Marie Buckley of Portsmouth, Gail Lee Evins of Midlothian, Va., Rose Davis of Ocala, Fla., Norma Jean Martin of Milwaukee, N.C., Sue Coefield of Colerain, N.C.; a son, Bill Monroe Vaughan of Ahoskie; three stepsons, Montee Brickhouse, Glenn Brickhouse, Allen Brickhouse, all of Ahoskie; brother, Foy Vaughan of Portsmouth; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 1997, in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Jimmy Ward and the Rev. Robert May.
