TEXIE H. HATHAWAY

Texie Harcum Hathaway, 88, died June 9, 1997, in a local hospital.

She was born in Franklin, Va., and was the daughter of Rosa Leigh and Orris W. Harcum. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Norfolk, and its T.E.L. Sunday School Class and Happy Folks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther T. Hathaway.

She is survived by three daughters, Frances H. Hoessly of Norfolk, Anne H. Summers of Chesapeake, Betty H. ``Honey'' McAnally of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four sons, Fred G. Hathaway of Raleigh, N.C., Bruce E. Hathaway, Curtis H. Hathaway, Ralph L. Hathaway, all of Charlottesville, Va.; 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, the Rev. Luther T. Hathaway Jr.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Baptist Church, 2808 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, by the Rev. John Mason and the Rev. Richard Pickens. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.

Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 2808 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23509. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
