Mr. Clarence Paul Gilliam, 83, died Friday, July 11, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Gilliam was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the South Pacific. He received numerous medals for his service, including a presidential citation. He was a member of The American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of Milwaukee United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Martin Gilliam; a son, Dixie Paul Gilliam of Conway, N.C.; two sisters, Olivia Britton and Elizabeth Eaton, both of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 1997, at Milwaukee United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Bowman and the Rev. Dan Bowmen. Burial will follow in Milwaukee Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jackson Funeral Home, Jackson, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
