WEEK WILL BE HOT AND SWEATY AGAIN AND AGAIN

If you've had any doubts, they'll melt away this week: Summer is here to stay.

And stay.

There's a sweaty sameness to the forecast through the week, with high temperatures daily expected to reach into the low to mid 90s and overnight lows to hover in the 70s.

High pressure is expected to remain as the dominant weather feature over the region through today, and there's little to offer any relief from the heat through next week. Just a chance of thunderstorms by midweek.

The Hampton Roads and vicinity forecast:

Today - Sunny and hot with a highs in the mid 90s and southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight - Clear with a low in the mid 70s and calm winds.

Tuesday - Sunny and hot with a high in the mid 90s and a low in the 70s.

Wednesday - Partly sunny with a chance of late-day thunderstorms. The high should be in the low to mid 90s with an overnight low in the 70s.

Thursday and Friday - Mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 90s an overnight lows in the 70s. KEYWORDS: WEATHER
