RICHARD C. HAMMOND

Richard Coleman Hammond, 77, of the 1600 block of Sheppard Ave., died July 13, 1997.

A native of Chicopee, Mass., he was a retired commander in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Leser Hammond; one daughter, Virginia Bryant of Riverside, Conn.; one son, Richard C. Hammond Jr. of Harlingen, Texas; one sister, Elizabeth Musco of Windsor, Conn.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, Norfolk, by the Rev. Richard O. Bridgford on Thursday, July 17, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Epiphany Renovation Fund, 1530 Lafayette Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23509.
