Denise Floylen Johnson, 33, died Sunday, July 13, 1997, in her residence. Ms. Johnson was born in Elizabeth City and was the daughter of the late Floyd B. and Helen Sumner Johnson.

Ms. Johnson is survived by five sisters, Debbie J. Burgess of Kitty Hawk, Diana J. Burton of Fredericksburg, Va., Dale J. Young of Deep River, Conn., Donnie J. Hurley of Youngsville and Durisa J. Bain of Dunn.

A funeral will be conducted at Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church Wednesday at 3 p.m. by the Revs. Brad Bradshaw and Ryan K. Young. Burial will be in Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk. The family will receive friends at the home of Debbie J. Burgess, 889 Emeline Lane, Kitty Hawk. Memorial donations may be made to the Dare County S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 1000, Manteo.
