Cora Frances Gilliam Motley of the 200 block of Joya Circle died Thursday, July 10, 1997, at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Washington, D.C., Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and a graduate of Bowie State University. She was a member of Frontiers International Auxiliary. She also was a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and the American Legion Auxiliary of Portsmouth. She was a teacher at day care facilities in Annapolis and Portsmouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Motley Brownlee and Reesa Motley McMurtry, both of Harrisburg; a son, Curtis E. Motley of Annapolis; a brother, Samuel Gilliam of Rocky Mount, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Mildred Davis of Danville, Va.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild and four step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James McKinley Motley Jr.
A funeral will be held at noon Thursday in First Baptist Church of Steelton, Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton, is in charge. Friends will be received at 2014 Alexis Sr., Susquehanna Township. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
