JULIAN A. GROSSO

Julian A. Grosso, 78, died Monday, July 14, 1997, at his residence, First Colonial Inn.

A Norfolk native, he was the son of the late John A. and Ethel White Grosso. He graduated from Maury High School and attended Norfolk's Extension of William and Mary, as well as the California Technical Institute. Mr. Grosso was employed at N.O.B. and Norfolk International Airport as a certified aeronautical technician. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

His training to become an Eagle Scout served him well in environmentally controlled forestry. Upon his retirement, he pursued such concepts at his tree farm in Amherst County, Va. Failing health induced his return to this area, to be close to family.

Virginia Beach survivors are a sister, Viola G. Stokes; a brother-in-law, Dr. William A. Stokes, and a niece, Janet F. Mikluschak, and her family. Fredericksburg survivors are a nephew, Scott Stokes, and his family.

Private graveside services will be conducted by Dr. Charles Smith. Donations should be made to the Park Place United Methodist Church Building Fund, 35th St. and Colonial Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23508. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
