A man was killed early Tuesday morning when the car he was driving ran off Shore Drive near Fort Story and hit a tree, police reported.
Police believe the driver was drinking.
Police said the driver was eastbound on Shore Drive when his Honda Accord ran off the road at 1:30 a.m., struck the tree on a wooded median and overturned. The driver was thrown out and the car rolled over him, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the car was registered in Tennessee, but they did not know the driver's identity. KEYWORDS: ACCIDENT TRAFFIC FATALITY
