PHILIP A. LITES

Philip Albert Lites Jr., 66, died Thursday, July 17, 1997, in an Elizabeth City Hospital.

Mr. Lites was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and was a retired owner/operator of a service station. He attended Ocracoke United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department. He was the son of the late Philip Albert Lites Sr. and the late Ruth Cappers Lites and the husband of Clara Anne Holmes Lites of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sheila Becker of Tully, N.Y., and Sherry McGrady and Clara Biase, both of Cortland, N.Y.; a son, Philip A. Lites III of Bunnell, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Theodore Richard Lites.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Ocracoke United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jim Huskins. Burial will follow in Ocracoke Community Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Memorial donations may be made to the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department or Ocracoke United Methodist Church. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
