DEBORAH D. CARROLL

Deborah Dorsey Carroll, died July 16, 1997, in her residence.

Mrs. Carroll was born in Baltimore, Md. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Marshall Dorsey. Mrs. Carroll was the wife of retired U.S. Navy Capt. Charles Barrett Carroll, and had been a resident of Virginia Beach since 1979.

She took her nursing degree from the Women's Hospital of Maryland and later her B.S. degree from Columbia University in New York. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II.

Mrs. Carroll was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Parish. Other memberships included the Sunrise Circle of The King's Daughters, the Princess Anne Women's Club, the Auxiliary of the Legion of Mary, and the Hermitage Foundation Auxiliary. She also was a Dame of Harvard College and a member of the John Harvard Society.

Survivors include her husband; four sons and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Carroll Jr. of San Francisco, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Michael H. Carroll and Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Carroll, all of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. David B. Carroll of Limerick, Ireland; one sister, Mrs. R. Clarke Kinsley, and one brother, Mr. Robert W. Dorsey, both of Baltimore; and seven grandchildren.

A Catholic funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 1997 at the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base Chapel by Chaplain John Morris. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 1997, at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Mass. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be sent to the Seton House, in care of Ms. Jefferies, 642 N. Lynnhaven Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452. H.D.
