A sketch of a woman who might be able to provide police with information on the murder of Denise Floylen Johnson generated two or three phone calls, but there were no significant developments in the case Thursday.
Also, a police report Johnson filed in September of last year alleged that she had received a number of harassing phone calls. No arrests were made in connection with the complaint.
``We haven't been able to determine with any degree of certainty whether there is a link or not,'' Police Chief Ray Davis said of the harassment report.
``We haven't made an arrest. There's really nothing new that we can release at this time. We're continuing to follow all leads in the case.''
Investigators continued to interview individuals who may have information concerning the Sunday morning murder. Preliminary autopsy results indicated that Johnson died of stab wounds to the back and sides of her neck.
Firefighters found the body of the 33-year-old waitress at her home on Norfolk Street. She was last seen at 1:10 a.m. in the Avalon neighborhood of Kill Devil Hills. Authorities are still looking for a blond woman who they believe may provide substantial information in the case. KEYWORDS: MURDER
