THE CRAFTY FOX is back, but at a new address.
The store that used to be Foxglove on 21st Street in Norfolk has re-opened as The Freckled Fox at 700 W. 21st St. in Virginia Beach, right at the end of the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway.
Like the first shop, the current one specializes in ``home and garden accessories with Old World charm,'' said Jan Fine, one of three co-owners. The others are Kaye Taylor, a former Foxglove owner, and Marietta Gwathmey.
At 3,000 square feet, The Freckled Fox is three times the size of the original store, which closed in early 1996 to make way for new construction.
``Now we have room for more garden furniture and chandeliers,'' Fine said. The store also carries freeze-dried and silk flowers, containers for flowers, urns for indoors and out, scented candles, cards and much more.
``A customer can spend from 30 cents for bath beads to $1,500 for a wonderful iron bench for the garden,'' Fine said.
The owners are pleased with their new, highly visible location. ``Even though we've done no advertising, people seem to be finding us,'' Fine said.
The Freckled Fox is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ILLUSTRATION: DAVID B. HOLLINGSWORTH COLOR PHOTOS/The
