Mary Knapton Ehlers, 50, died July 17, 1997, in her residence.
She was born in Sun Prairie, Wis., and was an engraver for Quality American Locksmith, Portsmouth. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald E. ``Jerry'' Ehlers; a daughter, Kathryn M. Ehlers of Portsmouth; two sons, Ronald P. Ehlers and Peter J. Ehlers, both of Portsmouth; three sisters, Marlene Klug of Waterloo, Wis., and Marie Pederson and Margie Jesberger, both of Sun Prairie.
A funeral will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church by the Rev. William Batterman. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 6:45 p.m. until service time.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made in Mrs. Ehlers' memory to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 4811 High St. W., Portsmouth, Va. 23703. Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
