MARY D. SAWYER

Mary Harrell Davis Sawyer, 76, of the 1400 block of Perry St. died July 18, 1997, in Garner, N.C.

She was born in Perquimans County, N.C., and was the widow of Edgar H. Sawyer. A member of Southside Baptist Church, Chesapeake, she was a retired assembly line worker of General Electric.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Alice Waters of Chesapeake, Myrtle Lee May of Garner, Gladys Faye Williams of Evansdale, N.C.; three sons, William Edgar Sawyer and Edward Earl Sawyer, both of Garner, Julian Harold Sawyer of Chesapeake; a brother, George A. Davis of Chesapeake; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Gregory Hensley. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and at 216 McCosh Drive, Chesapeake, at all other times. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
