WILSON N. COBBS

Dr. Wilson Nimrod Cobbs of Merrimac Avenue, a practicing urologist, died July 17, 1997, in a local hospital.

He was born in Gordonsville, Orange County, Va., and was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Henry B. Cobbs Sr. Dr. Cobbs was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. He was a Tuskegee Airman and served as second lieutenant fighter pilot and flight surgeon in the military service.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie S. Cobbs; a daughter, attorney Leslie S. Turner of Columbia, Md.; two grandsons, one in Norfolk and the other in Columbia, Md.; two brothers, Jesse Cobbs of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Winston Cobbs of Queens, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion C. Skinner of Norfolk; two brothers-in-law, Linwood Riddick of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Alfred Skinner of Norfolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Viewing will be at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at noon in Grace Episcopal Church, Norfolk. The remains will be placed in church at 10 a.m. the day of the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made to Norfolk Community Hospital. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
