Edythe ``Susie'' Alpine McLain, 79, of the 100 block of Oregon Ave., died July 19, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Hill Top, W.Va. She was employed in the Portsmouth office of Leggett Department Stores and was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles H. McLain; two sisters-in-law, Madeline Evans of Oak Hill, W.Va., and Gladys Johnson of Portsmouth; two nieces, Carol Yee of Portsmouth and Leah Treacy of Florida; and a very special friend, Mrs. Tommie Boyd of Portsmouth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Dr. Albert A. Peverall Jr. in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
