TUGBOAT CREW FINDS WOMAN'S BODY IN RIVER

A tugboat crew discovered a woman's body floating in the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River early Sunday afternoon, Norfolk police said.

There was no identification found with the body, and police were still attempting to identify her Sunday afternoon.

The woman's body was brought to shore about 12:50 p.m. at a dock at the Boathouse near Harbor Park, police said.

Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's office for examination to determine the cause of her death. It was unclear how long her body had been in the river. ILLUSTRATION: unidentified body
