WILLIE B. MOORE

Mrs. Willie Bell Moore, 92, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, in the Britthaven Nursing Home, Edenton.

A native of Chowan County, Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Bell Sr. and Chetta Brett Bell and the wife of the late Waylon C. Moore.

Mrs. Moore was a retired operator with Carolina Telephone, a lifetime member of the Edenton United Methodist Church and a life member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service in which she held many offices. She was presented an award for 47 years in the church choir and was a member of the Eastern Star (NU)302.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellen Bagford of Arlington, Va., and Joyce Fries of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a nephew, Thomas Bell of California; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayland C. ``Jack'' Moore and William T. ``Billy'' Moore.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Rex Brooks and the Rev. Ralph Epps with burial following in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Edenton United Methodist Church, 225 Virginia Road, Edenton, N.C. 27932. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
