Martha Adeline Tew, 96, of the 4200 block of Ransom Court, died Monday, July 21, 1997.
She was a teacher for the Portsmouth school system in Port Norfolk. She was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, charter member of Alpha Delta Pi Kappa Honor Society for Women Educators of Pi Chapter and a past member of the Richard Dale Womans Club.
She is survived by a brother, Roland E. Tew of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother-in-law, Gilbert Leis of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by the Rev. Kathryn Pigg, with burial to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Port Norfolk Baptist Church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
