Thomas Dominic Peters, 71, died Saturday, July 19, 1997, in an Elizabeth City hospital.
Mr. Peters was born in Campbell, Ohio, and resided in Rodanthe for the past 26 years. He was the owner/operator of the Captain John Allen Motel and Sea Chest Gift Shop in Rodanthe and was known for his waterfowl carvings. Mr. Peters was the son of the late Dominic Peters and the late Pauline Santore Peters, and was the husband of Myrna Brazell Peters of the home.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lucy Rose of Florida and Ann Zambrini of Ohio; a son, Thomas W. Peters of Poland, Ohio; a brother, Dominic Peters of Florida; three grandchildren, Tara, Tia and Thomas Peters of Poland, Ohio.
Interment will be in Manteo Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Friday. A memorial service will follow at noon in Fairhaven United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Warren officiating. After the memorial service, friends may join the family at the Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo Community Center for a celebration of the passing of Thomas. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Campbell, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairhaven United Methodist Church or Chicamacomico Historical Association or to the charity of one's choice. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
