HORACE D. BUTLER

Horace Daniel Butler, 83, a Hampton resident for eight years, died July 19, 1997, after a long illness.

He was a resident of Suffolk for over 70 years. He retired as general manager of Garnett Oil Company in 1981. He was a former member of Masonic Lodge (NU)30 and the Knights of Pythias in Suffolk, Va. He was nondenominational.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virgie Lee Butler; a son, Horace Lee Butler, and his wife, Tanya Butler, of Hampton; a daughter, Linda Arlene Carson of Suffolk; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Luther Nussbaum. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hill Funeral Home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
