Vera R. Gardner, 76, died July 19, 1997, in a local nursing home.
Born in Veblan, S.D., she was a housewife and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and V.F.W. (NU)3160 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, James Gardner; two sons, David Wayne Gardner of Norfolk, James Jay Gardner of Arlington, Va.; five sisters, Thelma Wooley of Sweethome, Ore., Dora Mundt of Britton, S.D., Dorothy Dahlberg of Sissiton, S.D., Anna Keller of Wheaton, Minn., Gladys Welzenbach of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three brothers, Howard Rice of Sissiton, Robert Rice of Oregon City, Ore., Donald Rice of Seattle; two grandchildren, Toni Dianne Gardner of Fredricksburg, Va., and Kimberly Marie Gardner of Richmond.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
