JERRY L. WATSON

Jerry Lynne Watson, 57, of Sand Pit Road, died July 22, 1997, in his residence.

Born in Rocky Mount, N.C., he retired from Shop 51 of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was also employed by Perri-Air Equipment Co. He was a past member of the Quanset Hunt Club and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Edwina Johnston Watson; two sisters, Edith W. Munson of Suffolk, Edna W. Taylor of Portsmouth; two nephews, Marshal Perrine of Chesapeake, Thomas Munson of Suffolk; four nieces, Shelly Steinfurth of Portsmouth, Jenny Sue Barnes of Suffolk, Whitney Parry of Fredericksburg, Va., and Heather Hollingsworth of Goode, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Kathryn Pigg. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family will also be at 3143 Reese Drive, Portsmouth, at other times.
