BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OFFICE MOVES; CANDLER APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT: The Better Business Bureau of Greater Hampton Roads has moved its Peninsula office to Coliseum Mall. The office was in the Hampton Small Business Incubator on Research Drive. Linda M. Candler was promoted to vice president for the Peninsula region. She has been with the organization for five years as public relations director.

NORFOLK

HARBOR GROUP BUYS HIGH POINT COMPLEX: Ambassador Court Apartments, a 192-unit complex in High Point, N.C., was purchased by Harbor Group for $6.3 million from North Pointe Partners II. Harbor Group Management Co. will manage the complex.

VIRGINIA BEACH

CARBONE JOINS LINKHORN MEDICAL ASSOCIATES: Dr. Anthony J. Carbone, a family practice physician, has joined Sentara Medical Group's Linkhorn Medical Associates. His appointment is effective July 28.

COLONIAL DOWNS NAMES STEWART CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER; FORTMAN, DIRECTOR OF MUTUELS: Ian M. Stewart was named chief financial officer of Colonial Downs. Stewart, a certified public accountant, replaces Robert H. Hughes. Hughes will remain a director for the company. Stewart recently served as interim chief financial officer for several companies in Virginia. Also, Karl Fortman was named director of mutuels. He will oversee the mutuels operations at the race track and all Horse Racing Centers throughout Virginia. He will also oversee the company's computerized systems and installation of the totalizator systems for all facilities. Colonial Downs race track, located in New Kent County, will open Sept. 1.

GENERAL DYNAMICS SAYS NO DEAL IN WORKS: General Dynamics on Tuesday stated that it is not in discussion with Litton Industries to acquire it or any of its business units. Litton is the parent company of Ingalls Shipbuilding; Ingalls is a competitor of General Dynamics' Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine.
