Lee Grant, 73, of Old Providence Road, was born to Eternal Life July 25, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Raeford, N.C., he was the widower of Ann F. Grant. Chief Petty Officer Grant retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years and as a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was also retired from the civil service after 22 years service at the Newport News Shipyard. Mr. Grant also retired from the Lab Corp of Chesapeake. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, and the VFW.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Rowland of Chesapeake, Valerie Grant, Lisa Grant, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Douglas Grant of Suffolk; four sisters, Letha Edwards of Lumberton, N.C., Elnita Kirby of Rockingham, N.C., Daphine Spruytte of Sophia, N.C., Novella Beck of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, James ``Jimmy'' Grant of Rockingham, N.C.; three granddaughters, Rachel Rowland of Ohio, Cindy Grant and Christine Grant, both of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Levy H. Rowland, Kai Rowland, both of Chesapeake; a great-granddaughter, Ariana Grant of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by a brother, Delbert Grant.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Colonial Grove Memorial Park by Fr. Timothy Drake. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
