Thelma Payne Cobb, 93, of Norfolk and St. James City, Fla., died Thursday, July 24, 1997, in Lake Taylor Hospital.
Mrs. Cobb was the widow of Warren W. Cobb Sr. and the daughter of the late James W. Payne and Lucy Bragg Payne of Paris, Ky. She grew up on the Claiborn Stud Horse Farm, where her father was the farm manager.
Survivors include a son, Warren W. Cobb Jr. and his wife, Ruth of Norfolk; a daughter, Mary Cobb Dix and her husband, Deane of Marseilles, Ill.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and six sisters.
Mrs. Cobb and her husband developed Cobb's Marina in Little Creek in 1958 before retiring to Florida. She was a member of First Baptist Church, St. James City. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
