CHARLES R. STANCIL

Charles Reed Stancil of the 4000 block of Lake Ridge Circle died in his residence July 24, 1997, after a 3 1/2-year illness.

Mr. Stancil was a member of the Elks Club, a 32nd-degree Mason and was an Eagle Scout with the Order of the Arrow. He was a supervisor with the Farmers Market for 15 years and operated his own detective agency. He was also retired from the civil service.

Mr. Stancil is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Stancil; his mother, Betty J. Garrett of Virginia Beach; a son, Phillip C. Stancil and his wife, Jianbo Zhang Stancil, of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Lisa S. Angellatta of Yorktown, Va.; sister, Sandra Robold of Portsmouth; brother, Alva E. Garrett; and close friends, Andy Wood and family and Dr. and Mrs. Harold Addington.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel. A chapel service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
