Herbert Clifton Johnson Jr., 70, of the 3300 block of Pruden Blvd., died July 25, 1997, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Nansemond County, he was an oiler and operator for Operating Engineers Local No. 147, a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Suffolk, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia R. Johnson; three sons, Donald Ray Johnson of Suffolk, Lyle Dale Cook of Gloucester and Roy Alan Cook of Norfolk; and two grandchildren.
His parents, Gladys Piland Johnson and Herbert C. Johnson Sr. are deceased.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ben Scoffield. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. today at Harrell Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 3309 Pruden Blvd., Lot No. 9. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
