Willie E. Garrett Jr., 75, of Rainbow Lane, died July 25, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Garrett, a Baptist, was born in Norfolk and was the widower of Annis R. Garrett. He was retired as a pipefitter from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and served in the Army during World War II. Upon his return, he went to work at the shipyard and also opened his own plumbing business. He continued in that business until his retirement in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy G. Adams of Gales Ferry, Conn.; a son, Jeffrey L. Garrett of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Shane E. Garrett of Virginia Beach and Jason S. Adams of Gales Ferry; and a granddaughter, Danielle M. Adams of Gales Ferry.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Robert R. Pittman. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
