HENRY G. WILSON

Henry Grant ``Babe'' Wilson, 79, of Route 1, died July 26, 1997, in his home.

A native of Gates County, he was a member of Middle Swamp Baptist Church. He was retired from the N.C. State Department. He was a part-time employee of Harrell Funeral Home for more than 30 years and a part-time employee of Somerton Used Cars for the past 38 years. He was the son of the late Robert and Berta Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Owens Wilson; a daughter, Berta Lee Matthews of Gates; two sons, Henry G. Wilson Jr. and Jimmy Wilson, both of Suffolk; two sisters, Juanita Greene of Suffolk and Rosa Vance of Humblestown, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Savages United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Joe Buck and the Rev. Billy Presley. Harrell Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
