On June 25, about 6:30 p.m., a woman was robbed while making a deposit at a bank in the 300 block of Independence Blvd.
As she approached the depository, a man approached her and told her to give him the money bag or he would shoot her. She complied and the robber fled toward Pembroke Square Apartments.
The man is described as black, 22 to 25 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. He had short black hair and was wearing a black baseball cap, a white T-shirt, black pants and tennis shoes. Portsmouth
On June 19, about 10:45 a.m., an employee of the Pizza Hut in the 3000 block of Tyre Neck Road was robbed of the store's bank deposit.
The employee was getting into her car when the suspect approached her, demanding the bank bag. She gave it to him and he left.
The man is described as black, in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches and 165 pounds. He had short curly hair and a mustache, and he wore a dark shirt and jeans.
On May 24, about 11 a.m., police were called to a shooting in the 1300 block of Denver Drive.
When they arrived, they found William ``Dante'' Lassiter lying on the ground, surrounded by a crowd. The crowd became hostile to police.
Lassiter was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he died. No one at the scene could provide any information about the shooting. Suffolk
On July 7, Harvey's Service Center in the 800 block of N. Main St. was burglarized.
The thieves broke a window to get into the building and took the cash register and assorted coins. Hampton
On March 28, about 8:30 p.m., the Comfort Inn in the 1900 block of Coliseum Drive was robbed.
A man entered the lobby and demanded money from the clerk. After he got the money, he ordered the clerk to lie on the floor; then he fled.
The man is described as a black adult with a medium to dark complexion and a medium build. Newport News
Christopher Willis Jackson is wanted on multiple charges of forgery and uttering. He is also sought for violating probation.
Jackson is described as black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 155 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
His last known address was on Old Courthouse Way in Newport News.
