SIMMONS L. MCLEOD

Simmons Lucas McLeod, 81, of 900 First Colonial Road died July 23, 1997, in a local nursing home.

Mr. McLeod was a native of Lee County, S.C. He was a member of Kings Grant Baptist Church in Virginia Beach and a member of the Redwing Seniors Golf Association.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Blankenship McLeod of Virginia Beach; a son, Herman Guy McLeod of Virginia Beach; a sister, Eleanor Alger of Augusta, Ga.; two brothers, Ben Roy McLeod Jr. of Wilmington, N.C., James LeRoy McLeod of Durham, N.C.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 1997, at Kings Grant Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Holcomb. Family and friends will gather at the home of Herman McLeod following the service, 804 Kings Creek Drive, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Association, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513. H.D.
