RUBY K. LONG

Ruby Keaton Long, 82, of the 200 block of Woodland Circle, died July 29, 1997, in Chowan Hospital.

A native of Camden County, she was the widow of Ernest ``Dick'' Long and the daughter of the late Mary Britt and Robert Keaton. She was the retired co-owner of the former Dick's Drive-In and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and its Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Long of Greenville; three sisters, Laura ``Dot'' Mathews of Hertford, Maude Paul of Amelia, Va., and Eloise Britt of Suffolk; and a brother, Robert ``Bob'' Keaton of Hertford.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Swindell Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Boyd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Perquimans County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
