PETERSBURG Norfolk woman and two Marines accused in slaying

Three people were arrested in the slaying of a U.S. Marine whose death was first believed to be a suicide, detective Stephen K. Armstrong said Wednesday.

Jonathan Wilson, 20, was found dead in a motel room July 19. He had been shot in the head.

Witnesses told police that Wilson, a lance corporal based in Norfolk, had committed suicide.

Police investigated and found that the wound was not self-inflicted, Armstrong said.

Police arrested Scott A. Ramsey, 20; Daniel Allen McAllister, 21; and Jennifer Campbell, 21.

Ramsey and McAllister are Marines, and Campbell is a civilian from Norfolk.

Ramsey was charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm in a felony.

McAllister and Campbell were charged with being accessories after the fact. NORFOLK Arizona murder suspect arrested in Norfolk house

A man wanted on a first-degree murder charge in Tucson, Ariz., was arrested on a fugitive warrant in Norfolk, police spokesman Larry Hill said Wednesday.

Hill said police received a tip that Sargay D. Cephus, 23, of Tucson was at a house in the city.

They went to the house and arrested him about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Hill said Cephus' mother lives in Norfolk, but he did not know whether her house was the one where the arrest was made.

Cephus is charged with the murder of Lamar Aldridge, 15, who was killed Jan. 28 in front of his home.

Cephus' arraignment on the fugitive charge was postponed from Wednesday to Friday in Norfolk General District Court.
