PROUD TIGER SHERIFFS

John Downs Sr., left, an investigator for the Chesapeake sheriff's

office, makes a more pleasant use of his camera during a

presentation by Oscar Smith High School football coach Bill Lyons,

right, in the sheriff's office. Lyons presented Deputy Donnie Evans,

left, Sheriff John R. Newhart and Col. Claude Stafford Jr. with

helmets and plaques, expressing the team's appreciation of their

support. All three are Oscar Smith alumni. ``They've brought a great

deal of pride back to the program,'' Stafford said of the Tiger

football players.
