JASON L. SMITH

Jason Linwood Smith, 60, of the 300 block of McKinley Drive, died Aug. 2, 1997, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.

He was born in Bertie County, N.C., and was a store manager and stock holder for White & Woodley Mechanical Contractors. Mr. Smith was a member of Capeharts Baptist Church, Merry Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Ashley Smith; a son, Jason Curtis Smith and wife, Yvonne A., of Colerain; three sisters, Arlene Thompson of Winston-Salem, Vina White of Windsor, Rita Jones of Edenton; a brother, Henry Smith of Windsor; a grandchild, Jason Christopher Smith, Matthew Curtis Smith, both of Colerain; and stepmother, Elsie Hughes Smith of Colerain.

A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Robert May. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
