HELEN L. HARRIS

Helen Long Harris, 82, of the 9600 block of Wells Parkway, died Aug. 1, 1997, in Autumn Care of Norfolk.

Born in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late David J. Long and Helen Rodgers Long. Mrs. Harris was a retired teacher and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Norfolk, past president and member of the Pinewell Garden Club and past president of the R.O.A.L. Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Norris W. Harris Sr.; a daughter, Ann Elizabeth Harris Stengel of Santa Ynez, Calif.; a son, Norris W. Harris Jr. of Norfolk; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Michaels of Raleigh; and a brother, Frank S. Long of Coral Springs, Fla.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Boston, Va. Brooks Funeral Home, South Boston, is handling arrangements.
