Gennie L. Giles, of the 13400 block of Courthouse Highway, died Aug. 2, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Virginia, she was retired and the widow of James H. Giles Sr. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin, their Willing Workers Club, Missionary Circle, and choir. She was a member of Southern Isle of Wight Senior Citizens Club, Guiding Light Social and Saving Club and East Franklin Garden Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Sallie G. Penn of Smithfield; two sons, Lovett Darden of Franklin and George Giles of Franklin; two sisters, Sarah Mason and Quentelia Boone of Newport News; two brothers, Lamb Jenkins of Norfolk, Roy Jenkins of New York City; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
