ELIZABETH S. STOAKLEY

Elizabeth Sherry Stoakley, 77, of the 700 block of Spotswood Ave., died Aug. 4, 1997, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Stoakley was a native of Norfolk. She was the widow of Samuel McGann Stoakley and she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk.

Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Sherry Painter and her husband Charlie of Mathews, Mary Theresa Stoakley of Chesapeake; three sons, Samuel McGann Stoakley Jr. and his wife Nancy of Richmond, Richard S. Stoakley of Norfolk, David Timothy Stoakley and his wife Diane of Yorktown; five grandchildren, Samantha, Heather, Amy, Kristy and Michael; and two great-granddaughters, Summer and Kaili.

A Mass of Christian Burial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 1997, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father John Dorgan. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

A Christian Wake Service will be held in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. today at 7 p.m. The family will remain at the funeral home following the Wake Service to visit with family and friends. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
