Nell F. Croom, 75, of the 1900 block of Gatewood Court, died Aug. 6, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of The Plains, Va., and the widow of Joe N. Croom Jr., she retired as a secretary. Mrs. Croom was a member of Indian River Senior Citizens and an avid bowler.
Survivors include two daughters, DiAnne Sturgill of Ironton, Ohio, and Sharon Phipps of Manassas; a son, Joe N. Croom of Chesapeake; three sisters, Charlotte Haney of Kearneysville, W.Va., Helen Corder of The Plains, and Margaret Scott of Fairfax, Va.; a brother, Elwood Rector of The Plains; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Dr. J.D. Norris. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
